LOSER'S BRACKET NOMINATIONS!
It is time to announce the LOSER'S BRACKET!
The Loser's Bracket is meant to give some love to characters who lost early, so anyone who has made it to the Quarterfinals and farther (even if they lose there) has gotten far enough they don't really need the love of the Loser's Bracket. During our last tournament Red Riding Poll, the Loser's Bracket winner was a character who hadn't even made it out of Round 1! This is for all the characters who might have been less recognizable but still awesome, to all the characters that got overshadowed by others.
The rules for nominations:
The Loser's Bracket will be either a 16 or 32 single elimination bracket, depending on the amount of nominations that are sent in.
Unlike the main tournament, where the polls each lasted a week, the polls for the Loser's Bracket will last only a day. That means the entire Loser's Bracket will probably last around a week.
Nominate as many characters as you want, but don't nominate the same character multiple times. Be mindful that the most nominated characters will be the ones that will make it to the bracket. Also nominate characters one at a time.
Propaganda from the Main Tournament will not appear, but feel free to submit any propaganda you want for why the character should win the Loser's Bracket!
Nominations open today and will close on the 15th of January, the same day the Quarterfinals of the main tournament loses.
Be respectful! Just because your fave didn't make it as far as you wanted in the main tournament or the Loser's Bracket, doesn't mean that the other contestants aren't worthwhile either! Remember, every character in this tournament have people who love them just as much as you love your fave, so please be courteous!

Under the cut is a list of every character who has lost & which round they lost in. Feel free to consult the list if you want to jog your memory on which Cinderellas you might want to nominate.

Grocery shopping for the next couple of weeks is done. I made an order from Walmart and as soon as it was brought to me I realized I needed like five or six more things. So I had to go back out. Then since hubby is at work I had to bring everything in myself which is just exhausting. I think I am owed a nap.
My sister asked what I wanted for Christmas and it was pretty hard because I really have everything I need. I asked for more bedding and I've had my eye on some Firefly glass bracelets. I see the ads for Nogu constantly on here. I've been looking at the bracelets there and of course the more I look the more ads they send me. It's just their bracelets are fairly expensive and I'm so afraid that I'm going to spend the money and then they are not going to look like the ones in the pictures. I really want the green glow in the dark glass. So I found one on Etsy that was half the price and my sister ordered it. She also ordered us some monogram sheets and a bunch of bedding that just arrived today and I haven't even had the energy to open it up.
However she had also sent me something much earlier in the month that we had had a hard time getting delivered because neither one of us were home whenever you UPS came by. I started getting really curious about it because she said it was something very special that she saw it and thought of me. Well. , , it was delivered yesterday and oh boy...... I kind of felt like someone had given me a leg lamp. It was a set of super heavy Green Glass candelabras with dangling beads coming off the sides. And in the candelabras were these electronic candles that supposedly had their own remote control for that controlled how they flickered. It was the biggest ugliest monstrosity I think I have ever seen. And I guess she thought of me because it was Green and the Green Glass is very pretty but oh my God........ it's hideous. And I'm not even sure what the remote control is supposed to do we got the candles to turn on and that's about it.
They are so unbelievably heavy I guess if I could swing them they would make a great self-defense weapon. That's about the only good thing I can say for them.
But she is the only family I have and it is a thought that counts so I'm glad she was thinking of me.
Tomorrow I am going to go and send off my final Christmas present Period I was able to get two of my closest friends And my sister Personalized tumblers from this place that does it locally. For my other friend who Is usually In much more need of groceries, I sent a gift card from Walmart and she was able to get herself an air fryer and a few groceries with it. So that made me happy.
Tuesday I'm sitting up a table at the only coffee shop in town where I happen to know the owner fairly well. I'm trying to sell off these dozens upon dozens of extra Mary Kay cosmetics I ended up with.
I had ordered some of them for a teacher that I work with but when I had to discipline her absolutely hateful and disrespectful son who told almost every teacher on campus---- including her --'to shut up and go to hell.
I don't know what he told her about me but suddenly she did not speak to me anymore,, & hasn't spoken to me in the last year.
So of course she was unwilling to purchase all the Cosmetics she had actually ordered from me once they came in. *sigh*
Also last year I had to order $300 worth of cosmetics in order to keep my status as consultant. But then I just ran out of the energy to go out and sell the stuff. Most days I just want to go home and go to bed I don't want to track down any clients I don't want to give makeovers I just want to sleep. So anyway I'm trying to make whatever I can offer them and selling them cheap as stocking stuffers monday. Going to try to drag my carcass out of bed early and catch the morning Rush of people and I am so hoping I can sell a few things just to get them out of my hair.

I already thought the series of Avon tie-ins was pretty bizarre, but it turns out Barbie is not just a door to door saleswoman for a "direct sales" company that may or may not have a dubious history.
(And y'all thought Earring Magic Ken was the only MLM in the Barbie line!)
Mary Kay Star Consultant Barbie dropped in 2003 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Mary Kay multi-level marketing scam company.
Sorry if I sound harsh here. Multi-level marketing companies prey on people (Mary Kay tends to target women specifically) by promising them the dream of working from home and being their own boss and earning bank that way. Or maybe just getting a wholesale discount on things you were going to buy anyway! And if you refer a friend, you get passive income.
Mary Kay specifically offers additional perks such as distinctive pink cars for their high level Sales Consultants. High level in this case meaning that they are making the most sales, and the people they have referred are making sales.
Most people who take part in multi-level marketing companies lose more money than they make, by a significant margin. They are pressured into spending money to build up an "inventory" by their "upline" (the person who referred them) in order for that person to make commission from their downline's orders.
Mary Kay actually closed in Australia in 2020, so you don't tend to see those distinctive pink cars around anymore.
For more information about Multi-Level Marketing and Mary Kay, consider looking at MLMtruth.org or the Pink Truth blog, for Mary Kay related information.

Hello everyone,
I am doing something and stepping out of my comfort zone for many reasons which I will go over in just a little bit later in this post. However, for those that don’t want to read the whole thing and want to get to the ending as quickly as possible, I am now a Mary Kay consultant https://www.marykay.com/sydneytaylor45239.
Okay now that is out of the way let me tell you why I am stepping out of my comfort zone and why.
1) Like anything of this nature that involves being in sales I don’t want to come across as pushy or pester my friends and family too much. However I do see this as a great opportunity for me for a few different reasons I’ll highlight later on.
2) I’m very new to make up and at times I’m like a young teenage girl still trying to figure out everything that comes with make up and skin care.
3) I’m new to living as a woman and I’m still learning a lot about the socialization of being a woman and that can be awkward for me at times.
4) I don’t want to write a whole book on this post so I’ll just say there are many small reasons beyond that but the 3 above are by far and away the biggest reasons why.
So why am I doing this and how can it help me and hopefully you?
So as to why #1 isn’t a deal breaker. I am used to working all the time and with weekends off and summers and other breaks thrown in as a now full time teacher I want something else to do on the side but something I can do as much or as little as I want. I get to have something else to do and get to have goals to reach and I get to be my own boss doing it.
As for reason number #2 why I’m stepping out of my comfort zone is because I enjoy make up and skin care a lot and as a woman I get to fully embrace it and let’s be honest even if I wasn’t living my best life as a woman and was still living as a man make up has become acceptable for men now too. Even if there are still many that look down on it. However I am for everyone being free to express themselves and I want to help foster a fun safe environment for everyone to explore those possibilities. On top of that I get to learn more and more about all of the fun things about make up, applying it, and skin care etc and can get out of my awkward young teen stage and move into strong confident career woman phase.
As for reason 3. I’ve been to an event and I got to see a lot of strong confident women engage with each other and they celebrated each others accomplishments and just in general had great feminine companionship that was quite impressive. I view this opportunity as a way for me to interact with my fellow women friends and family in a fun social way to help me build my confidence in being one of the girls. Also I view this as an opportunity to meet new people and expand my connections and engagement with the world.
So I won’t bore you too much more but if you are interested in a consultation with me at some point in the future, or want to set up and host a party someday don’t hesitate to ask. If you don’t want to do any of that and just want to order some things you can just go to my website and order that’s okay too and I plan on running discounts for friends, family, and new customers fairly often.
❤ Sydney

The film bears striking similarities to the story of Letourneau and Fualaau, which the screenwriter Samy Burch cited as her inspiration for the script. The director Todd Haynes recreates real tabloid covers in the film and includes a pivotal conversation (“who was the boss?”) taken directly from a news interview with the real-life couple. Fualaau and Joe are both of Asian/Pacific Islander descent (Joe is Korean, while Fualaau is Samoan); both fathered children while their abuser was in prison for child rape; both later married them.
Given the parallels, Fualaau, now 40 and living in the Seattle area, told the Hollywood Reporter that he was disappointed that Burch, Haynes and Melton – an awards season favorite nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance – did not consult him on the project. “I’m still alive and well,” he said. “If they had reached out to me, we could have worked together on a masterpiece. Instead, they chose to do a ripoff of my original story.
“I’m offended by the entire project and the lack of respect given to me – who lived through a real story and is still living it,” he added.
This is shitty of them to steal this guy's story, I thought they had at least consulted with him or warned him or acknowledged him in some way. At least in Maestro and Killers of the Flower Moon they worked with the families and the Osage people. when I read. the premise of the movie I immediately thought of this case, it's such a famous scandal.

I think the momentum of May December has slowed down after Vili Fualaau spoke against the movie. He's the person that inspired Charles Melton character that was abused and manipulated by his sixth grade teacher who had kids with him and then married him. He mentioned how the creators of the movie didn't even contact him. Since the theme of the movie is about the exploitation by the film industry of abuse victims, this action by the team behind the movie is glaring. They could have at least offered to pay him some consulting fees since they are exploiting his suffering
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/mary-kay-letourneau-vili-fualaau-charles-melton-may-december-1235778794/
Yea, I remember posting about this in disbelief and shock on my blog a few days ago. I just can't believe they didn't even bother to contact him!
So yea, maybe that's been hurting the film's chances (and the actor's chances) during the awards season.

The President of McDonald's USA threw shade at California lawmakers for passing a fast-food law that he said would make it "all but impossible to run small business restaurants" in the state, Joe Erlinger said in a January 25 open letter.
AB 257, dubbed the FAST Act, signed into law last year, could raise hourly restaurant wages to $22 an hour in the state. The open letter was published after the state approved a referendum backed by fast-food chains that would put the law up for a vote in November 2024. The law was previously set to be enforced on January 1. But until the vote, state officials can't implement the law.
A majority of McDonald's, nearly 14,000 restaurants in the US, are run by franchisees, with hundreds of stores operating in California. The open letter was titled, "California keeps looking for ways to raise prices, drive away more businesses and destroy growth through bad policy and bad politics."
In the letter, Erlanger noted that the company wasn't against increasing the minimum wage. "Let me be clear: we support legislation that leads to meaningful improvements in our communities, including responsible increases to the minimum wage. Our business does well when our employees and our communities do well," he said.
"Whether you're a lawmaker, a business owner or leader, or an everyday voter, one thing is clear: California has become a dramatic case study of putting bad politics over good policy," Erlinger said. According to financial disclosures, Erlinger made about $7.4 million in salary, stock options, and other compensation from McDonald's in 2021, the latest year complete compensation history is available.
A coalition of restaurant industry organizations led by McDonald's, Chipotle, and In-N-Out supported the referendum.
Restaurant analyst John Gordon, a consultant for many McDonald's franchisees, said he's not surprised by Erlinger's remarks, which seem to be setting the stage for a battle leading up to the November 2024 vote, he said. 2024 is a presidential election year, and turnout is expected to be high.
McDonald's taking a public stance on anti-business legislation, he said.
Supporters of the union-backed FAST Act, signed by Governor Gavin Newsom on Labor Day, say the law would improve working conditions for thousands of fast-food workers in the state.
AB 257 creates a 10-member council of fast food workers, franchisees, franchisors, advocates for fast food employees, and representatives from the governor's office. The council will establish minimum standards on wages, working hours, and other working conditions related to the health and safety of workers. The law applies to food chains with more than 100 locations, including Starbucks, Wendy's, Burger King, and McDonald's.
The industry's trade organization, National Restaurant Association, said the law would hurt small business owners, including fast food franchisees who own one or two restaurants. The organization said higher wage mandates could raise costs for California fast-food restaurants by $3 billion.
Another main sticking point for the restaurant industry – state officials, including Newsom, would appoint members of the 10-person council.
"The state is teaching us a powerful lesson about what our future could look like if this one-sided style of democracy is mimicked elsewhere or goes unchecked in the Golden State," said Erlinger, a native of California. "There are big, important issues that need the attention of lawmakers. Implementing costly and job-destroying legislation like AB257 is not the answer."
Mary Kay Henry, president of the Service Employees International Union, said chains like McDonald's, Chipotle, and Starbucks, who backed the referendum, "think they can buy their way out of anything."
Fast-food workers across California said they plan to strike Thursday and Friday to protest chain support of the referendum to overturn the FAST Act.
"California voters are about to teach them an expensive lesson: no corporation is more powerful than half a million workers joining together to demand a seat at the table," Henry said in response to the referendum. "As California fast-food workers defend this landmark law and assert their voice, SEIU is absolutely committed to standing with them in their fight."
